The best Zizek piece in a while (probably since the height of Occupy). He handily explains the becoming-rent of profit, performs a hat-tip and drive-by criticism of Hardt & Negri, and does an eloquent job of making the...

Interview with Former VC Katy Turner
Katy Turner was a VC at Eden Ventures, one of Europe’s early stage venture funds, before leaving earlier this year to join London startup Videoplaza http://www.videoplaza.com/. Videoplaza empowers broadcasters, publishers and networks to maximise their advertising revenues from the New IP-delivered TV. Their global client base uses the Videoplaza ad management platform to monetise video...

BRYCE DOT VC: For Whom Is This Service Built? →
brycedotvc:
I don’t use Facebook.
Yeah, I have an account and yes I’ve used my account to sign up for other services I do use, but I’ve not used it on a daily or weekly basis in a couple years.
So I was intrigued when a friend walked into my office last week to show off the new profiles and timelines they…

Pay It Forward Culture
I find it ironic to be arriving here in Helsinki for the Arctic 15 Conference a week after Steve Blank’s visit and recent blog post on the ‘Pay it Forward Culture’ in SF. http://steveblank.com/2011/09/15/the-pay-it-forward-culture/. I was on the receiving end of the pay it forward culture this evening by Jens Sorensen, CEO of Tuubio.com. He was introduced to me late this...

Yesterday I walked from Greenpark to Soho and ran into an exec of a large media company grabbing take-away sushi, had a mtg at VC...

Turntable.FM
A sigh of relief, an easing of the twitches. I am back in America where I can access Turntable.FM and I’m simply amazed at the growth in the number of people and the number of rooms on the site. Now if you’ll excuse me, it’s Friday night and its time to get my DJ on.

How to Raise VC
(My jet-lagged post)
I caught up with Scott Allison, CEO of www.teamly.com today. Besides hearing about the growth of his company’s user base, we discussed raising VC in Europe. He thought that Nic, a Partner at DFJ, put this best when describing his relationship with Josh, the CEO of one of our more recent portfolio company’s Conversocial in his blog post...
